Each year, City Scene Media Group, producers of City Scene Magazine and Westerville Magazine, conducts a citywide survey of ‘Best of the Bus’, (Columbus). This is a poll conducted throughout Central Ohio. On March 7, we were notified that WARM was nominated in two categories, Best Volunteer Experience and Best Food-Themed Festival; The Great Westerville Food Truck Fest. This category had particularly strong competition from many long-lived festivals. We launched an aggressive awareness campaign, and asked for the votes.
I am happy to announce that WARM is the Winner of the Best Volunteer Experience! and Great Westerville Food Truck Fest is third place winner for best food-themed festival - #1 Jazz and Rib Fest, and #2 Columbus Commons Food Truck Festival (2 day events with 100,000+ in attendance). I would say we are in some pretty good company!
Congratulations to Karan Stempko, Taylor Owens and volunteer team for their excellent execution of service learning and volunteer projects while accommodating the many, many requests to volunteer. Congratulations to the WARM Great Westerville Food Truck Fest production team; Amy Cooley, Dede Carothers, Stephen Gale, Scott Marier, Taylor Owens, Karan Stempko, and Cheryl Wooten for offering a unique community event to raise awareness of and funding for WARM.
